Its going on almost 4 years since the tragedy. At the time sending flowers as condolences seemed like all I could do. Amy & I hadnt worked together nor did we grow up together. We met by chance thru our husbands work at Alcoa. Little did I know that a friendship would bloom. We worked out together, played pinochle on Saturday nights for money(drink money for our cruise), went antiquing & had many a laugh on our trips to lancaster. Everything that has been written about amy in this guest book, can be magnified a million times to do her justice. She knew how to make everything fun. Since her untimely death, there have been so many things that trigger memories of her. Most recently, watching home movies w/my family...there she was, christmas eve, entertaining the kids by doing her best playing air-banjo to some Christmas tunes. It was so good seeing her in happier times, but also , so heart-touching. Had to laugh & cry. I am thankful that Miss Kate & the 6th grade class have been kind enough to keep her guest book permanently open, because once again amy was on my mind & now I was able to say something to let you know that although she is gone, she will never be forgotten. Always on our minds & in our hearts. Sometimes people come into our lives for a reason, so very happy Amy was came in to mine.

Although there may not have been a lot of years in her life, there was a lot of life in her years. Amy was the person we all strive to be and has shown me truly what it means to "love your neighbor". She is still sadly missed today.

To the Lewis Family: I am so sad and heartbroken to hear about the tragic loss of Amy. Amy and I were friends in high school and although it's been many years since Ive seen her, the sense of loss is still deep. I am starting to believe that good people are taken from this earth to be an example for the rest of us. Amy brightened others' lives and you have to believe that those people will "pay it forward" and bless others with those same qualities. May God bless you and the children and bring you peace and comfort .

Although my parents were friends of Amy's, I never really got to know her. However, the few memories of Amy that I still have show her with her sons, smiling. It's obvious that she will be missed by everyone.

It is difficult to understand why Amy's life was ended so abruptly. She touched so many lives in a positive way. She always brought happiness to her coworkers and those around her. Our ambulance crew just spoke with her at 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the E.R., to transfer one of her patients out. She was very pleasant to us and told us to be safe out there. Little did I know this would be the last of many night shifts we would get to speak to her. Many of us at Cetronia Ambulance Corps. (Allentown) will greatly miss Amy. She was very good to all the EMS crews. May the Lord take care of her. May the Lord watch over her 2 boys and guide and strengthen them in years to come. God Bless her whole family and help them to heal.

Amy was a positive, happy influence on anyone with whom she had contact. I met Amy in the ER at LVH-17th & Chew St due to being a part-time Paramedic with the City of Allentown EMS. I did not know her before then. Then to my surprise, while waiting on tables at Yorkville Hose Company breakfasts (my fire company), I saw her with her family. We talked and realized we both live in Pottsville. From then on almost every time I saw her at the LVH-17th ER she would joke with me and her co-workers that I was the guy who made her breakfast. Amy and her family came to many of our breakfasts. Many times this was after her working a night shift in the ER and still in her work clothes. She sacrificed her sleep to have breakfast with her family which showed the kind of person that she was.
To Amy's family, please accept my condolences and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Joseph Palmer

To the Lewis family, you have my deepest sympathy on you tragic loss and know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. I had the true good fortune of getting to know Amy during our four years together at Nativity. I cannot say enough good things about her. The world is a better place for having Amy in it and since her far too premature passing it seems as if a bright light has been extinguished. Try to take some comfort in knowing that she is in a better place and that God called her home early for some higher reason.
