Peacefully, at Riverside Healthcare Centre, Selkirk, on Thursday, January 7, 2021, George, aged 85 years, former teacher and Deputy Head at St. Mary's, School, Melrose, Rugby referee, Border League and South of Scotland Rugby administrator, after dinner speaker, dearly beloved husband of Margy, dear father of Alison, Ian and Catriona, father-in-law of Andrew, Mandy & Simon and proud and loving grandfather of Angus, Sara, James, Ewan, Aobha, Tom and Oli. On Friday, January 22, at 12.35 pm, the cortege will leave Spottiswoode House and pass slowly through Gattonside and onto Melrose RFC and St. Mary's at 12.50 pm, before travelling to Wairds Cemetery, Melrose where a private interment will take place at 1 pm.
