GILCHRIST Irene (Oxton)
Peacefully, at Galashiels Nursing Home, on December 26, 2020, Irene, dearly loved wife of John and the late Tom Smith, loving mum of Carol, special gran of Alexis, Liana and Melissa and dear step-mum of Irene, Mary, Jim and Evelyn. On Friday, January 8, 2021, at 12 noon, the cortège will pass through Oxton allowing people to pay their respects to Irene. A private service will then be held at Channelkirk Parish Church, at 12.15 pm, followed by a private interment in Oxton Cemetery, at 1 pm. No flowers please, but donations if desired for Alzheimer Scotland may be sent to Thomas Brown & Sons, Funeral Directors, East Port, Melrose, TD6 9EE.
