Ruth K. English Obituary
Ruth K. English, age 90, of Smyrna, Delaware, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born on October 3, 1927 in Donaldson, Pennsylvania.

Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family, playing games, knitting, crocheting, delivering meals on wheels with her husband, ironing and bingo.

Ruth was a 1946 graduate of Tremont, Pennsylvania, 1 of 35 classmates. Ruth was a member of Eastern Star in Pennsylvania. On May 27, 1949, Ruth married her high school sweetheart, Bob.

Ruth worked for many years with her family for McGinnis Market in Smyrna. Following that, Ruth worked for the Delaware Home for the Chronically Ill, where she retired in 1990.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents Harrison and Sarah Klinger; three sisters, baby girl Klinger, Alma Artz and Doris Schrope; her son, William English; and grandson, Keegan English.

She is survived by five children, Linda Foskey (Richard) of Dover, Delaware, Craig English (Sharon) also of Dover, Don English of Smyrna, Thomas English (Meloney Thompson) also of Smyrna and Marsha Pope (Terry) of Loganville, Georgia. She is also survived by one brother, Robert Klinger (Connie) of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna. Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Burial will be privately held at a later date in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, Delaware.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to New Century Hospice, 665 S. Carter Road, Suite 1, Smyrna, DE 19977 or to Mamie A. Warren Senior Center, 1775 Wheatleys Pond Road, Smyrna, DE 19977.
