Irene T. Jurek, age 93, of Foley, died Sunday February 17, 2013 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2013 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Duelm. The Rev. Virgil Helmin will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and 1 hour before services at the church. Parish prayers will be at 5 p.m. and Christian Mothers will pray rosary at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home.
Irene Jurek was born October 17, 1919 in Gilman, Minnesota to Joseph and Anna (Spiczka) Smelter. She married Roy R. Jurek November 10, 1941 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Morrill. The couple had lived in Oakland, CA before moving to Benton County where they farmed. She loved her girl trips with her sisters and later her daughters. Irene liked gardening, canning, raising flowers, knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed going on four wheeler rides around the farm with Roy. She loved her family. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church where she was a member of the Christian Mothers.
She is survived by her sons and daughters, Carol McNeal, St. Joseph; Robert (Judy), St. Cloud; Diane Hansgen, St. Joseph; Curt (Mary), Foley; Cindi (Lyden) Moe, St. Cloud; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; brother and sisters, Clarence Smelter, Sauk Rapids; Betty Swedziak, Sartell; and Patsy Studniski, Rogers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy R. Jurek, December 9, 2008, parents, son-in-law, Earl McNeal, sisters and brother, Tina Plombon, Delores Dumonceaux and Severin Smelter.
Irene's family would like to thank the Foley Nursing Home, the ICU and 5 North, for all their kindness and care.

TO THE CHILDREN OF ROY AND IRENE,
YEARS AGO, RON AND I PLAYED 500 WITH YOUR PARENTS. WE TOOK TURNS AT ONE ANOTHERS HOMES. ENJOY A FEW BEERS, CARDS AND CONVERSATION. A VERY NICE COUPLE.THEIR CIRCLE IS COMPLETE.
