Clara M. Murphy, 74

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am Monday, January 7, 2013 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Clara Mae Murphy who died Tuesday at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Sauk Rapids. The Rev. Thomas Knoblach will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Grey Eagle. Friends and relatives may call from 4-8PM Sunday at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud and 1 hour prior to services Monday at the church in St. Cloud. Waite Park American Legion Post # 428 Auxiliary will pray at 5:30PM on Sunday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.
Clara was born in Grey Eagle to John & Catherine (Marty) Gangl. She grew up in the Grey Eagle area and attended school in both Upsala and Grey Eagle. She married Cyril Murphy and they were later divorced. She devoted 35 years of her life in adult foster care services in and around St. Cloud. She is a member and past President of the Waite Park American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post # 428 in Waite Park. She was an avid bowler, bowling at Southway and taking trips to bowl. Clara also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her sons, Jeffrey of St. Cloud; Bradley of Port Orange, FL; daughter, Marina of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Ryan (Beth Chouinard) Murphy, Kara (Adam) Huff, and Brayden Murphy; great grandchildren, Ashton, Torin, and Olivia. She is also survived by longtime companion and friend, Vic Thelen of St. Cloud; brother and sisters, Donald Gangl of Circle Pines, Dorothy Hoffman of Nashwauk; Theresa Smith of Forest Lake.
Clara is preceded in death by her sisters, Isabelle Gangl, Leona Hoffman, brothers, Harold Gangl, and Norbert Gangl.
Special thank you to Dr. Al-Katib and Debbie Corrigan of the Coborn Cancer Center in St. Cloud, St. Cloud Hospital Home Hospice, and Dr. Joel Duray and staff for all they have done for Clara.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the St. Cloud Hospital Hospice.

Marina and Vic and family, I am so sorry to hear of Clara's passing. I visited her several years ago in her home. I still think of her everytime I pass her house. She was a great lady, and I really enjoyed getting to know her. God bless you in this difficult time.
