Rose Marie "Rose Mary" Minnerath, 80

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 17, 2012 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Rose Mary Minnerath, age 80, who died Friday at her home. Burial will be in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 16th at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m., Saturday morning at the funeral home.

Rose Mary was born in Richmond, MN to Anton and Theresa (Mackedanz) Huschle.

She married Alfred P. Minnerath on December 29, 1955 in St. Paul's Catholic Church, St. Cloud. Rose Mary was a homemaker, raising 12 children, and later in life, she was employed as a nursing assistant at Assumption Nursing Home in Cold Spring. She was a woman with profound faith in God and a dedication to the teachings of the Catholic Church. She was a longstanding volunteer at St. Boniface Church, was an active member of St. Boniface Befrienders, the Christian Women, and Rural Stearns Faith in Action, and was a strong supporter of Common Hope to help children in Guatemala. Rose Mary had boundless energy and was passionate about gardening, quilting, fishing, and providing service to others. She found great joy while working in her yard or helping those in need. She was admired for her strong work ethic and her determination to successfully complete any task that she encountered. Her family cherished her for her sewing skills, her home-preserved foods (pickles, corn, and apple pies), and her renowned holiday feasts (turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes with gravy). Through her actions, Rose Mary profoundly impacted more lives than she ever knew, and because of this, she shall be dearly missed.

Survivors include her children, Kevin (Barb), Stephen (Kirsten), Michael (Elena), Marcia (Mark) O'Neill, Joseph (Dee), Jeanne Minnerath (Paul Brietzke), James (Deb), Brian (Jody), John (Renee), Allan (Jean), and Amy Minnerath-Peterson (Eric Peterson); sisters, Martha Gertken, Mary Ann Ruprecht, and Lorraine (Harold) Jungels; 34 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle (1961-1962); parents, and brother, Ferdinand (1929-1936).
