Lakeville - Jackalynn "Jackie" Agnes Bermel passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at The Fountains at Hosanna! in Lakeville, MN.

Jackie was born in Little Falls, MN on July 11, 1931, the daughter of John and Sarah (Magdalyn) Bergan. She married Gerald "Jerry" Bermel on May 30, 1953 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Little Falls. They were married for 50 years. In 2012 she moved to Lakeville, MN to be near her family.

Jackie is survived by her children and their spouses Jeffrey (Nancy) Bermel, Jilleen (Brian) Hair, Jean (Brent) Kruger, and John (Kristen) Bermel; eight grandchildren, Stephanie (Deric) Rauch, Elizabeth, Kayla, Daniel, Mark, Renee, Mitchell, and Lydia, and two great grandchildren, Aubrey and Leah; brother Edward (Bonnie) Bergan and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, grandson Patrick Hair, her parents, and sister Patricia Raymond.

Jackie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she served in the Daughters of Isabella, the Catholic Christian Mothers, the Ladies Guild and as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary's and St. Gabriel's Hospital. She served women in the Morrison County area by coordinating the local Reach to Recovery International program. She most recently attended All Saints Catholic Church in Lakeville.

Jackie became a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at St. Gabriel's Hospital until 1987. During her schooling, she succeeded at being a wife, a nurturing mother and honor student. She was respected for her enthusiasm, humble bedside manner, and service.

Jackie had a heart for God, faithfully serving her church and communities. She had a contagious sense of humor, loved fun, enjoyed gardening, sewing, and crafts. A gracious hostess, Jackie loved to entertain. One of the first residents at The Fountains at Hosanna!, Jackie lived by the motto her parents taught her, "Bloom where you are planted."

Jackie's family is most grateful for the loving and compassionate care she received at The Fountains over the years and especially over the last weeks of her life.
