Violet J. Lindeen, 98

Sauk Rapids - Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2018 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids for Violet J. Lindeen, age 98, who passed away Sunday at her home. Pastor Randy Johnson will officiate and burial will be at Benton Cemetery in Sauk Rapids. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Friday at the funeral home.

Violet was born May 12, 1919 in Wood Lake to Robert & Hulda (Wenstrom) Steabner. She met Raymond Lindeen at a school dance where she was singing, and they were married on Dec. 5, 1939 in Litchfield. They moved to St. Cloud in 1944 and Violet worked as a cook at North Junior High and Apollo High School. She also worked as a midwife, and at the St. Cloud Laundromat and Cozy Inn Restaurant. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, St. Cloud Region. Violet enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, singing, playing guitar, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. She was a loving, honest, caring, and hardworking woman.

Violet is survived by her children, Virgil (Maria) Lindeen of Colorado Springs, CO, Robert (Jackie) Lindeen of Andover, Stanley (Holly) Lindeen of Shelton, WA, Janiece (Burton) Ramsey of St. Cloud, Lillian (Jason) Kruse of Ogilvie, Darrel (Joyce) Lindeen of St. Cloud, Joleen (David) Rubel of Glenwood, and Shirley Lindeen of Sauk Rapids; 16 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. Violet was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond on Nov. 2, 1972; son, Roy; and brother, Virgil Steabner.
