William Gregor Jordan M.D. Obituary
William Gregor Jordan, M.D.

Westminster, CO - William G. Jordan, age 84, passed away February 8 at Sunrise Senior Living in Westminster, Colorado, after a long and valiant battle with Alzheimer's disease. Until September 2017, Bill was a long-time resident of St. Cloud and Waite Park in Minnesota.

Bill was born in Chilhowie, Virginia, to the late Everett and Berenice Jordan. After World War II the family moved from Detroit, Michigan, to West Virginia. Bill felt a strong kinship with that state all his life.

Bill graduated from the Medical College of Virginia in 1962, interned in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and then served two years with the United States Air Force in Izmir, Turkey. He completed a residency in psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University in 1969. In 1997, Bill retired from the VA hospital in Saint Cloud, Minnesota, after serving as Chief of Psychiatry for many years.

Bill had a lifelong love for bluegrass music. He developed an extensive repertoire of songs and enjoyed playing with friends at jams and also at area nursing homes.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sharron Hooper Jordan of Waite Park, Minnesota; daughters Susan (Rob) Faltinson, Broomfield, Colorado; Elizabeth (Bill) Devaney, Redwood City, California; and Jean Jordan, Chicago, Illinois. Surviving grandchildren are Emily and Jon Faltinson and Kate and Abby Devaney.

Bill was preceded in death by his older brother, Alan Jordan of Oak Hill, West Virginia, and is survived by his younger brother, Jon Jordan, M.D., of McLean, Virginia.

A funeral service will be held at Family in Christ Community Church in Westminster, Colorado, on Saturday, February 17 at 12 noon, with visitation at 11 a.m. A reception will follow the service.
