Memorial services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral for Shirlee Claire Grebinoski, age 86, who passed away peacefully Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Cherrywood Advanced Living in St. Cloud. Rev. Tony Oelrich will officiate. Friends may gather from 11:00 to 1:00 P.M. on Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral, St. Cloud. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home.

Shirlee was born on September 2, 1927 in New Rockford ND to Bernard and Anna (Heilman) Cahill. The family moved to Breckenridge, MN in 1928. After graduating high school she worked for Western Union and she was a commercial writer for WJON and KCLD for 23 years retiring in 1989. Shirlee also did comedy writing for Phyllis Diller and Rodney Dangerfield. Shirlee was married to Larry Kurtz in October 1946 they were later divorced. In November 1966 she was married to Alphonse Grebinoski. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral for over 30 years during which time she served as president of the school board and also president of St. Anne's Christian Mothers. Shirlee was most proud of her large family and her favorite things were babies, books and bridge.

Survivors include her husband, Alphonse; children, Dennis (Lee) Kurtz of Sartell, Kathleen (Jim) Damrau of Lakeville, Carol (Richard) Feneis of Sartell, Douglas (Jackie) Kurtz of Sauk Rapids, Karen (Joe) Rupp of St. Cloud, Michelle (Jeff) Eikmeier of Sartell, Connie (Kevin) Matz of Clearwater; 50 grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Larry Kurtz; son, Michael Kurtz; daughter-in-law, Debra Kurtz; sons-in-law, Jim Benson and Bob Pflepsen; infant grandson, Jeffrey Kurtz; sister, Mary Ellen Cahill; and brothers Leo and William James Cahill.
