Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2013 at Grace United Methodist Church in St. Cloud for Larry A. Boese, age 66, who passed away Thursday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Lynda Ellis and Rev. Kristin Anderson will concelebrate and burial will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Monday at the church. Grace Methodist/ Atonement Lutheran prayers will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Sauk Rapids.

Larry A. Boese was born Sept. 20, 1946 in Minneapolis to Henry & Mary (Thompson) Boese. Larry spent 3 years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany and 18 years in the U.S. Air Force, mainly stationed at Ellsworth AFB and Andrews AFB where he was nicknamed, "The Boese". Following his service, he worked as a service manager for Cycle City in Suitland, MD, Mountjoys Auto in Hyattsville, MD, and for Pep Boys in Oxon Hill, MD. While out East, Larry took pilot lessons, became a Single Pilot and owned his own plane. In 1992 he moved back to Minnesota to be near family. Larry worked for Zip's Diesel Service and retired in 1998. On September 20, 1969 he married Cheryl Leighton in Huron, SD. He was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church. Larry's favorite pastimes were riding his Harley to the Sturgis Rally, working on cars, repairing motorcycles, small engines, bobcats, hunting, living in the country and all of his dogs.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Cheryl of Clearwater; son, David (Molly) Boese of Sartell; sister, Sharon (John) Litzau of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Dylan Becker, Brice Douvier-Gore, Taylor Boese, and Landen Boese. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Stacie Mae; brother, Henry Arthur Boese; and nephew, Shawn Collin Litzau.
