Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at St. Wendelin's Catholic Church in Luxemburg for Lorraine Schabel, age 92 of Luxemburg, who passed away at her home on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. Reverend Ronald Weyrens will officiate. Entombment will take place in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum in St. Cloud.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday and after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at Mary Hall in Luxemburg. Parish prayers will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Mary Hall. Arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
Lorraine was born on November 8, 1923 in Kimball, Minnesota to Joseph and Mable (Arnold) Borman. She married Herbert Schabel on November 24, 1962, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Kimball. Lorraine worked at Holes-Webway and then Universal Collections until her retirement in 1987. She also was the book keeper for Schabel Beverage (Pabst) from 1976 until 1984. Lorraine was a member of St. Wendelin's Catholic Church in Luxemburg.
She enjoyed taking trips in her motor home, spending time at the lake home, and going to the casino. She especially liked doing these activities with her husband, family, and friends.
Lorraine is survived by her many nieces and nephews; sister-in-laws; and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herb in 2009; brothers, Howard, Louis, Everett, and Donald.
