Joy Fluke Obituary

Joy Lorraine Fluke

1942 ~ 2014

Joy passed peacefully January, 6th surrounded by family. We would like to thank all of her family and friends for their thoughts and prayers. Joy is survived by her brother George (Sue) Kingen, sister-in-law Sandy Patterson, daughter Debbie Fluke, son Larry (Cindy) Fluke, and her two grandchildren Conner and Eban Fluke.

Joy was passionate about volunteering her time at local hospitals along with helping her friends and various family members throughout her life. She enjoyed quilting, needle point, gardening, shopping, and entertaining. A highlight of her life was spending time with her grandsons. She shared her love with her animals leaving behind her beloved dog, Lilly.

There will be a Memorial Visitation Saturday, January 25th, 2014 at her private residence. Please join us anytime between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembrances be made to the Scleroderma Foundation, PO Box 84506, Seattle WA 98116, (www.scleroderma.org) or a charity of your choice. Please sign Joy's online Guest Book at www.Legacy.com.

She will live in our hearts forever.

Joy is my best friend and always will be. We shared many special times together and I will keep her in my heart forever. We met over 55 years ago and I consider her daughter Debbie & he son Larry and his wife Cindy a part of my family always, I miss Joy very much and always will. God bless Joy and her family members who were always there for me. Words alone do not describe how much Joy means to me. She is a sister to me She is at peace now after enduring many health issues and is now with her beloved husband Bob and family who went before her. Joy is an Angel & the nicest woman I am blessed to have had in my life. I love you Joy Joy. Respectfully, Judy Spencer.

I have looked forward to every Wednesday in anticipation of seeing Joy! Her radiant face lit up any room she was in. One Wednesday, she brought an article that Bob had printed off regarding health benefits of cinnamon and honey. I purchased several brands of honey from a local farm that I know. Every Wednesday, time permitting Joy and I would share tea and try a new honey. Our favorite is Knotweed Honey. Sometimes Carol would join the tea party.
Joy brought a lot of Joy to me with her love, compassion for caring for others and her sweet laughter. She will always remain in my heart and I will try to spread her joy everywhere. Debbie, you have your mom's radiant face. I will miss seeing you. God bless you and your family. I still miss my mom everyday. Again, please call if I can help you in any way. xox Barb
P.S. Michelle & I were frequently in trouble for talking to Joy too much & laughing! lol

I will miss Joy-Joy terribly. She was the sweetest, kindest, most generous person I have ever met. She was pure angel, with the most gorgeous blue eyes imaginable. I count myself very fortunate to have known her and been her friend and neighbor. I hope the wonderful memories her loving family have of her, will give them some comfort. She is with her Bobbie, brother Larry, and sweet mother now, and is no longer having to endure the debilitating medical hardships life dealt her. I will always remember her happy, smiling face and amazing disposition. She was one of a kind and I will miss her terribly.

Thank you for your messages. Michelle I miss seeing all of you wonderful ladies every Thursday morning. You were always so kind and caring and you made her feel at ease. She loved the conversations she had with you.
I miss mom so much it's hard to believe they are both gone. They are together now and she no longer has to suffer. Life will never be the same. Love you both mom and dad.

I am forever grateful to have had Joy as my friend since high school and her mother Myrtle who was like a mother to me. Joy and her mother both had smiles cemented on their faces and were the kindest most caring people. Joy and I had great fun and laughs thru the years. Bob was so very very lucky to have married Joy and I know she loved him deeply. I will never forget her and I send my heartfelt condolences to Georgie (as I always knew him) and her son Larry and Debbie. She lost her brother Larry many many years ago and he was also a great guy. You could not ask for a nicer, kinder family.

Joy brought to me love and laughter every Wednesday morning!!She was a wonderful lady who had a twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes. It was a pleasure to be part of her life and I'll never forget all of our little chats and loud laughter we had together:) She will be forever missed but I'm assured that she is with Bob now, who she truly missed. I wish her family lots of peace and joy in remembering all of their memories of such a wonderful and grateful person. I love you Debbie and rest of your family!! michelle
