Richard Shaffer Obituary

Richard Burl Shaffer

Richard Burl Shaffer passed away peacefully on September 3, 2018 at the age of 67 of pancreatic cancer.

Rich was born in Waterloo, Iowa on October 4, 1950, to C. Russell and Norma Shaffer. He was the third of four children. Rich married Lucille in 1973 and started a family. He spent the majority of his life between Torrance, CA, Port Angeles and Kirkland where he was a highly skilled stone mason and eventually ran his own company, Shaffer Custom Stone and Tile. He was a longtime member of Eastside Foursquare Church and had a loving relationship with God.

He will long be missed and remembered by his family and friends. He worked incredibly hard, and loved to laugh, watch sports (especially soccer), connect with friends, and spend time with his children and grandchildren.

Rich is survived by his three children, Matt, Nicole (Mike), and Drew (Chavell), his brother Terry (Karen), his sister Marsha (Steve), his brother Steve, and his grandchildren Eliana, Rocco, Tessa, Colin, Zachary, Luca, Mabel and Gusten,

A memorial service is scheduled at Eastside Foursquare Church on Saturday, September 15th. Service at 1:00pm, 14520 100th Ave NE, Bothell, WA 98011

Richard,

Fondest memories of you! Growing up together in Scottsdale. My dear friend from grade school into High School. We did everything together. I can still see you and your brothers Steve and Terry and Your sister Marsha and Your mother and dad, and slugger! So many memories! Then the challenging days ahead into adulthood. Years of separation, and then the renewal of our friendship! And finding out about your faith in Jesus and your wonderful family! And then realizing the challenges you faced in the final years of your life. But now, all tears are wiped away! And soon Jesus will return to this earth as HE promised, and Ill see you again! and we will laugh againtogetheruntil then, rest in His peaceand may God be with your family as they follow Him. Your adopted brother,
Bobby
