Althea (Diesenhaus) Stroum

Althea Diesenhaus Stroum, 88, passed away in her sleep Monday morning, March 14, 2011. She was an inspiring, funny, compassionate woman who loved life, her family and going to events. From young to old, whether friends or acquaintances, she was loved by everyone. Her passions were playing bridge, telling jokes and tap dancing, but family was her most cherished gift. There is so much to say about Althea, but it was her beautiful green eyes that captured her essence and zest for life.
The Seattle community benefited by her and her husband, Samuel Stroum's philanthropic generosity and will be sadly missed. After ten years, Althea will again be reunited with him.

She is loved and survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Jay Glazer, daughter, Cynthia Stroum, grandchildren Adam and Tammy Sloan, Scott and Jennifer Sloan, Courtney Stroum Meagher, Lindsay, Abby and Ellie Glazer and great-grandchildren, Nina, Sim,on and Natalie Sloan.

Services to be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Temple de Hirsch Sinai, 1511 East Pike Street, Seattle WA, scheduled for 1:00 PM.

Donations may be made to the Stroum Jewish Community Center of Greater Seattle, the Samuel and Althea Stroum Jewish Studies Program at the University of Washington, or a charity of your choice.
