Gordon Raisler Obituary

Gordon D. Raisler

Gordon D. Raisler, D.D.S, age 87, went to his eternal home on March 27, 2017, in Wenatchee WA. He was born on June 3, 1929 to John and Esther (Norris) Raisler, the eldest of four brothers in Beach, North Dakota. Gordon attended High School in Conrad, Montana, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, and graduated from University of Montana. He then went on to the University of Washington School of Dentistry, graduating in 1954. He met his devoted wife of 64 years Ruth Ann Richardson, in Sun Valley, Idaho and they married November 6, 1953. Living first in Seattle and then in Bellevue, they raised two daughters while Gordon maintained his dental practice in Downtown Seattle. He took great pride in providing exceptional care to his many generations of devoted patients. Gordon was a founding member of the Dr. Spratley Gold Foil Study Club and was appointed to the WA State Board of Dental Examiners by Governor Dan Evans. Gordon loved the outdoors and enjoying Sun Valley ski trips with Ruth, and hunting and fishing trips with life long dental school classmates, family and friends. Lake Chelan became their summer get away when Gordon and Ruth had a condo at Spader Bay. He also loved the "Inca Maru", our inboard-outboard cuddy cabin cruiser that made many trips to Neah Bay and to the San Juan and Gulf Islands. After retirement, Gordon and Ruth took off in their RV for snowbird winters in Arizona and made several RV trips to explore our beautiful country. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Jack and Warren. He is survived by his wife Ruth; daughters Jill (Dr. Barry) Raisler Wise, J.D. and Jana (Robert) Raisler Noges, D.D.S.; brother Richard Raisler D.D.S. of La Conner, WA; and granddaughters Clare E. and Mattie L. Wise.

A celebration of Gordon's life to follow later in the Summer of 2017. Memorial tributes may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Dear Ruthie, Jill, and Jana,

Lloyd's family sends you our deepest sympathy on Gordy's passing. He was truly a wonderful man. He was one of the finest dentists that our family ever knew; he took special care of his patients and he gave Lloyd the opportunity to partner in a first class practice. Gordy was kind and good to all those he knew and served. He was especially kind to our family. Hopefully Lloyd and Gordy have found each other and are fishing together in Paradise, right now.

All our Love,
Jane, John, Anne, and Nancy

I was a patient of Dr. Raisler from when I was a toddler (mid 1950's)until he retired. I was never afraid of a visit to the dentist, I remember it as an adventure, riding the bus into the city with my mom, and after my check-up getting to choose a tiny rubber animal. I also remember Ruth working in the office. My condolences to the family.
