Have been out of state for some time and just learned of Verlaine’s passing. Great person and judge with a wry sense of humor. Enjoyed schmoozing with her over the years. Missed by many and missed by me. Her spirit always with us.

I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Ms. Verlaine Keith-Miller. I only recently met her as we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the University of Washington's Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity. She was instrumental in the protests that led to the UW's embrace of diversity. She will be missed. My condolences to the family. - Rickey Hall

I knew Verlaine when we attended Sharples Jr High. She was dramatic, funny, smart, and unlike anyone else whom I knew. I have always been so glad to have had her as a friend during those formative years. She may not have grown up to be a bullfighter (as she often claimed she wanted to be), but it sounds as though she was a fighter for what she believed in.

Norm - I was so sorry to see this notice. I remember Verlaine so fondly from our work together way back when. She was so much fun to hang out with and go to lunch at the New Orleans restaurant up the street. My thoughts are with you. Take care.
