I knew Jan when I worked at Starbucks, she was one of my favorite customers! But more than that, she was also a friend. She made me laugh everytime she was around, inspired me w/ her life stories, and was a true believer in love. Jan was an amazing woman and will truly be missed by those of us who were lucky enough to know her. RIP Jan...I'll have a "Jan Special" next time I'm at Starbucks in your honor! : )

When I met Jan for the first time I was impressed by the fact that she was just a genuinely sweet lady with impeccable manners.
No matter how bad Jan was feeling she was always more interested in how I was feeling. If you knew Jan you knew you had a friend. A friend who would light up when she saw you.
To chat on the phone or to see Jan in person she let you know that she appreciated you. And it was genuine appreciation. That was what was so special about her. It was a gift she gave to everyone she met.
A sweet soul left this earth when Jan passed.
Jan had lessons that she taught all of us who had the privilege of knowing her.
I'll be seeing you...
Janis enjoying the sunshine in Kirkland

I had the priveledge of being Jan's caregiver and friend for almost two years. She was an incredible lady who brought smiles and laughter everywhere she went. My best times with Janis were spent either sitting having a meal together, going to Kelsey Creek Park to visit the animals, or just enjoying the sunshine in Kirkland sitting by the lake. I had a lot of time with her and enjoyed every minute of it.
We said that our parents helped put us together. My dad passed from cancer in 1999 and her parents passed after. I met Janis in January of 2009 and that is a day I will never forget. I knocked on her door and when she opened it and was listening to OMD the song on the radio was "I touch you once, I touch you twice, I won't look back at any price" She touched my shoulder and I said, " I touch you once and I touched her back and said, "I touch you twice." We laughed and within 5 minutes she told me she liked me. I was so happy because I liked her too. She became like a sister that I never had. I will never forget you Janis. I will play my radio extra loud in the car when I', thinking of you. Marie Nelson
