Marny Tobin Obituary

Marny S. TOBIN (Bayes) Age 41. Marny's battle with cancer ended 12/3/2006. She died at home surrounded by family and friends. Her life ended the same way she lived it; with care and inspiration for those around her. She was most proud of her daughter, Terra, for whom she cared immensely and from whom she drew much energy and inspiration. Her love and care for her family and friends was unconditional and an example for all who knew her. During her eight years of living with cancer she was actively involved with the Sarcoma Foundation of America. Her focus was on research and patient advocacy. Both patients and physicians from around the country were touched and inspired by her. Marny was born December 8, 1964 and raised in Bellevue, WA where she attended Interlake High School. Marny then studied at Eastern Washington University and Spokane Community College where she obtained her degree in Echocardiography. Her career took her back to the Seattle area where she worked at Stevens Hospital, Overlake Cardiology and Virginia Mason Hospital. She married her husband, Tom, in 1998 and moved to NY, Pittsburgh, and finally settled in Spokane. She is survived by her daughter, Terra Holloway, husband, Tom, mother, Sherry Bayes, brother, Darryl Bayes, and nephews, Zack, Spencer and Ryan. She is preceded in death by her father, Harry Bayes, her sister, Dawn, and her brother, Randy. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., December 7th at Sunset Hills Funeral Home, E 1215 14th PL SE, Bellevue, WA 98007. (425) 746-1400. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Marny's name to the Sarcoma Foundation of America, 9884 Main St, PO Box 458, Damascus, MD 20872. WWW.CURESARCOMA.ORG/DONATE

Marny is one of the most amazing people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. It is rare that someone can touch so many and make each person feel so important and special. Knowing her was a true pleasure. I will always smile when I think of her and work to be like her.
