Michael John ZIMNEY Jr. It saddens our hearts that Michael John Zimney Jr. has been sent to be with our Lord in Heaven on April 2, 2009. Michael (Mikey) was born in Redmond WA on June 26, 1992. Mikey was diagnosed with autism at age 2. Mikey was a joy as a child and blossomed into a wonderful young man. At age 5 the Bellevue School District became a huge part of his life. By the 3rd grade Mikey's hard work and love of school enabled him to transition from the special needs program at Sherwood Forest to mainstream classes at Ardmore Elementary. Since then he attended Highland Middle School earning many academic awards and making a ton of friends. At his current school, Interlake High, Mikey continued to excel earning all A's and endearing himself to teachers, students and staff. When not going to school or studying, Mikey spent all his free time at the King County Library System, playing his Wii with Chelsea and enjoying all things Anime. Michael is survived by his mother Leanna Zimney and partner Eric Manson, his father Michael Zimney and his wife Michelle, siblings Chelsea, Matthew and Shelby, grandparents Lee and Julie Nance, Clint and Judy Howard, and John Zimney, aunts & uncles Lori and Ruperto Beltran, Dan and Kelly Nance, Matthew and Amy Zimney and Steve Caddell, along with many cousins and other relatives. A celebration of Mikey's life will be held at the Highland Community Center, 14224 Bel Red Road, Bellevue, WA on Saturday April 11th at 2:00 p.m. with reception to follow immediately afterward. In lieu of flowers the family are requesting donations to the Michael Zimney Memorial at any US Bank branch.
