Alice Collier "Dee" Moore Obituary
Alice "Dee" Collier Moore

The last of the Collier siblings have left this earth. Alice "Dee" Collier Moore joined her beloved husband Al Moore on May 25, 2015. Dee, born July 24, 1915, was raised in Olympia WA and graduated from Olympia High School. She married the love of her life, Al, and together they worked hard to deliver the Olympia newspaper from Olympia to Tacoma to Seattle. After Al returned from active duty in World War II, they settled in the Greenlake area in Seattle and explored multiple entrepreneurial endeavors. They began with a drug store and ice cream parlor, and later a chain of TV and appliance stores including Video TV in Greenwood, Magnolia TV, Broadway TV and other branches in Everett and Lake Forest Park. Sadly her beloved husband and partner died young leaving Dee to manage the business until 2000. Upon retirement at 80 years old, she moved to her little brown house in Stanwood to care for her chickens, roosters, and ducks. Dee spent many years of her retirement volunteering at the Gleaners, helping to feed many families through their charity. She was active in her LDS church and Eastern Star. Dee never met a stranger. She trusted and loved everyone.

Dee was preceded by her siblings: Blanche Markillee (Robert), Harold Collier (Pauline), Velma Collier Sulens (Carl), and Helen Collier Haggett (Robert). She is survived and loved dearly by her daughter Renee, her son Dwight (Clare), her special son Davey Rabe (Jana), loving nephew Dave Haggett (Linda), grandchildren Mellanie, Brian, Mackenzie, Graeme Stuart, and Chesney, and her dear friends who she cherished, Mel and Gay Fisher. A special thank you to Holistic Adult Family Home for the loving care over the past 5 years and to a multitude of friends who never left her side. You were all special to her!

Viewing services will be held Friday, May 29 from 5-8 PM and before the Celebration of Life, Saturday May 30 at 10 AM at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home. Graveside service to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery.
