Anthony (Tony) MARACICH Passed away January 14, 2011 from complications of pneumonia. Born March 25, 1922 in the family home in Georgetown, the son of Croatian immigrant parents, Jack & Frances Maracich. He attended St. George grade school & Cleveland High School, graduating in 1940. Tony started working for the Boeing Co. as a welder. In 1952, he married Doris Anderson & they settled in the Top Hat area, raising 3 children. After working 43 years for the Boeing Co., he enjoyed 26 years of retirement. He was devoted to his family & his Catholic faith. As a member of Our Lady of Lourdes parish for over 50 years, he rarely missed Sunday mass until the last few years. Best known for his great dancing ability, sense of humor & willingness to help other people, Tony was a man of integrity. He liked being busy, walking the dog, picking berries to make jam, working in his garden, making his famous spaghetti sauce or grocery shopping for a bargain. Many summer weekends were spent with family & friends at the cabin on Star Lake. Tony enjoyed good health until the last couple years. We'll miss you, Dad. Predeceased by daughter Janet, son Jack, & sister Jackie Radoslovich. Survived by loving wife of 58 years, Doris, daughter Linda & son Dan, grandchildren Sam, Anna & Riley Maracich & daughter-in-law Peggy. Also survived by sisters-in-law Marion & Betty (Don) & 11 nieces & nephews. A special thank you to the staff at Judson Park & Franciscan Hospice for their loving care of Dad for the past month. Remembrances to Franciscan Hospice Foundation PO Box 1502 Tacoma, WA 98401 or a charity of your choice. Funeral Mass on Monday January 24 @ 11:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Burien. Burial @ Gethsemane Cemetery.
