Arlon Tussing Obituary
Arlon Rex Tussing, age 82, died in Campbell, California, on Friday, January 15, 2016 after a long illness. Born in 1933 in Portland, Oregon, he attended the University of Chicago and the University of Washington, receiving an economics PhD from the latter. He worked in public policy in Alaska and Washington DC in the 1960s and '70s, and brought his family to Mercer Island in 1976. He founded the Seattle consulting firm ARTA Inc. until retiring in the 2000s. He traveled the world extensively, and loved camping, kayaking, and mountain climbing. Survivors include wife Sandra Canino Tussing, San Mateo; daughter Maya Tussing, Burlingame; daughter Francesca Penchant, Seattle; brother Aubrey Dale Tussing, Syracuse; and sister Karen Tussing McArdle, Berkeley.
A service will be held in Anchorage in June.
