Barbara Ann Myers STEEN Barbara Steen, 82, died April 29, 2011. She was born November 2, 1928, to Max and Katherine Myers at her grandparents' farm in Leroy, Kansas. The family moved soon after to Shelton Washington where she attended Irene S. Reed High School. She was know as Bobby Ann and especially enjoyed being in drama club, and graduated from there in 1947. She was baptized and confirmed at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, and met Wayne Steen there, when they both taught Sunday School. After high school, she worked in an office in Olympia, WA until her marriage to Wayne, May 21st, 1948, upon his return from serving in Germany during WWII. They moved to Seattle in 1950 and settled here to raise their growing family. She served in numerous capaci ties at Hope Lutheran Church in cluding Women of Hope, Dorcas Sewing Circle, and Human Care Ministries. Barbara's children and grandchil dren were her focus and hobby. She is survived by her husband, Wayne O. Steen, brother Harry (Shirley) Myers of Lakewood California, son Craig M. Steen, daughter Camille L. Steen, son Eric W. (Sherri) Steen, son Mark J. Steen, daughter Michelle L. Steen, all of Seattle, son Gale L. (Nola) Steen of Tacoma, grand daughters Wendi Thompson, Nicole Dupler-Steen, Alexandra M. Steen and grandsons Dylan E. Steen, Adam A. Steen and Andrew A. Steen. Services will be held at Hope Lutheran Church, 4456-42nd SW, Saturday May 7 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Union Gospel Mission in Seattle.
