Born to Warren and Irene Mitchell February 15, 1937 and was raised in the Southwest. He served in the U. S. Navy aboard the Princeton and was honorably discharged from the Yorktown in Bremerton, WA. He was a longtime employee of the Continental Can Co. where he started out as a machinist apprentice. He held positions as a manufacturing engineer and a plant superintendent until plant closure. He retired from Mallidie Machinery as a sales engineer. He was a Charter member of American Machine Tool Distributors Association. He was a kind, generous man who never met a stranger, or forgot a face. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Shirley Hayes. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Willette J. Mitchell of Shoreline, WA, his son, Brian D. Mitchell of Everett, WA., and his brother, John and family of Carlsbad, New Mexico. He passed away peacefully on 11-20-2014 from complications of heart disease. He will be laid to rest at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
