Emma Margaret FAUNCE In loving memory of Emma Margaret Faunce, who passed away in her family home in Seattle on February 12th, at the age of 96. Born in Markinch, Saskatchewan, Canada on May 21, 1914 she moved with her family to Seattle at the age of 9. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James C. Faunce, her parents John and Magdalena Schiller; sisters Helen Albrecht, Sue Altmayer, Ann Hopkins and Elizabeth Pilo. She will be greatly missed by her children Janet Bradley (Brad) and Carol Dodson, her brother John Schiller (Billie), her grandchildren John Bradley (Wendy), Sean Bradley (Sarah), Gaines "Jim" Dodson (Judi), Beth Fountain (Gary); great grandchildren John Cole, Steven, Sarah, Evan, Benjamin, and Jimmy, and many nieces and nephews. She attended Colman Grade School and Franklin High School. She married her sweetheart of five years, Jim Faunce, on Thanksgiving Day in 1938. They lived in the Lake Union area where Emma worked at Thompson's Candy House. In 1940 they bought the house in the Rainier Valley where Emma was raised. Their daughters, Janet and Carol, were born here. In the late 50's they purchased property in the Seward Park area. Mom went to work at Carnation Ice Cream for 10 years in order to build their dream home. She loved her family, her home, oil and watercolor painting, her garden and feeding the birds on her sundeck. We will remember her love, her laugh, her strength, her wisdom, her generosity, Yahtze games, family birthdays, Christmas, Dove bars and Grandma sandwiches. Services Saturday, February 19th at 1:00 p.m., Columbia Funeral Home, 4567 Rainier Avenue South. Entombment at Acacia Memorial Park. Please sign our guest book at ColumbiaFuneralHome.com.
