As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Dr. Franklin Chu Memorial Service
Silverdale Lutheran Church, Silverdale, Washington, August 25, 2018
I knew Franklin as a good friend and colleague for many years when he served at the former Seattle Public Health Service Hospital and I at UW Medical Center.
When we started Operation Eyesight (OE) to China in 2001, our mission was to restore the eyesight of the poor and train local eye care professionals in Sichuan and Yunnan. I recruited Franklin immediately and he proved to be one of the most valuable and best partners in the mission field.
I have many fond memories of Franklin. He was witty, fun loving and quite boisterous. He was loved by all, especially his patients and those lovely nurses and lady doctors. The culture in China among the medical professions is very reserved. Franklin would organized games and make everyone laugh and relaxed. Even the hospital directors loved him.
Here are some of the photos and video footage of Franklin during our first 2 years in China.
Franklin lived his life from his heart. He shared from his heart and his story will touch and heal many people's souls, especially the ones he touched in China. We will all miss him very much.
Life is eternal,
and love is immortal,
and death is only a horizon;
and a horizon is nothing
save the limit of our sight.
George N.Chin, M.D.

I'll miss playing golf and singing in Choir with Franklin. He was always such a joy to be around. Steve Chupik
