George Thomas Calvo

George T. Calvo, 52, passed away September 18, 2018. George was a resident of Olympia Washington and formerly a resident of Seattle, Portland OR and NYC. George attended St. Marks grade school in North City and graduated from Meadowdale High School in Lynnwood Washington. George went on to attend the University of Washington. George also attended a media and photography school in Portland Oregon. He did his photography apprenticeship in NYC and later worked with independent photographers as well as for Macy's catalogs in NYC. George returned to the Seattle area in 2004.

George faced adversity in life and overcame the odds through determination and love. He was surrounded by his amazingly supportive housemates at an Oxford house in Olympia for the last three years. There George loved to cook for his housemates and decorate for the holidays bringing much joy to their home. George was a full time student at Evergreen College where he was pursuing a BS degree in biology. He often expressed that he could not have survived chemistry without his young classmates.

George was a photographer, a musician, a philosopher, a wonderful friend, a great brother, a fun uncle and a loving son. He is missed and loved by friends and family alike: his father, George E. Calvo and step mother, Carolyn, mother, Patricia A. Mason, brother, Bill (Pam), sister, Mary Lou Calvo, brother Patrick, brother Juan (K.Darrow), and many nieces, nephews as well as grand nieces and nephew. George joins his beloved brother Jim, who was predeceased in 1988.

A celebration of George's life will be held at Wandering Creek
