Obituary Condolences

Gwen Treadwell Davis ROPER Gwen was born June 22, 1921 in Heber City, UT to Richard Mark Smith and Helen Marguerite John. She passed away April 20, 2011. She was the loving sister of Richard (Jack) and Helen (Francie). She spent her childhood years in Logan and then moved to Boise, ID where she met and married Merrill Harry Treadwell. They moved to Seattle in 1941 so that "Tread", as he was known, could work in the shipyards. They lived for more than 40 years in West Seattle. Gwen loved music and taught piano for many years. After Tread's death she remarried twice more. In 1982 to Doyle Davis and in 1991 to Wesley Roper. Besides all three husbands, she was also preceded in death by her sons Merrill, and Bruce, and a daughter Bonnie. Gwen is survived by her son Garry and daughter Janice; sister Francie (Roger) and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Gwen loved God and was grateful for His presence in her life. She knew where she came from, why she was here, and where she was going, and was anxious to get back to her Heavenly Father's waiting arms. In lieu of flower, plant some in your garden this year and remember her every time you look at them. Funeral services will be Monday, April 25 at 11:00 a.m. at the Seattle Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 140th and Ambaum Blvd, Burien, WA. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Seattle.
