Harold Jaffe Obituary

Harold Joseph Jaffe

August 30, 1938 ~ January 13, 2017

Born August 30, 1938 in Seattle to immigrant parents, Harold Jaffe graduated from Garfield High in 1956 and received his B.A. from UW in 1960. He married and started his family, settling in Tacoma for two years before moving to San Jose to open a consumer electronics store. He spent 40 years in that business, meeting and marrying his true partner, Kim.

Upon retirement he found his dream job working for the Seattle Mariners, where he was given the title Mayor of the Diamond Club. He also enjoyed working for the local Toyota dealership in Customer Service. What Harold did best was make friends. He and Kim cherished the bonds they forged in their business & retirement. Harold leaves behind his wife, Kim and children, Allan (Cynthia), Lisa, Chris, Kevin (Lori), & Nori (Mike), sister Helene (Dick), and with seven wonderful grandchildren, as well as nephews and grand-nieces.

I only knew Harold a short time but I have been so moved by the loving support of his family and all the people surrounding Harold in his final days. He was much beloved. We don't get to choose how long we live but we do get to choose what kind of people we are in the world. And the response of others is that proof of who we are. Rest in peace Harold, you will be truly missed.

So many times we would tune in to a Mariners game and look for Harold standing watch at the entrance to the stands behind home plate. We'll miss him.

Dear Cousin Harold you will never be forgotten, there are so many wonderful things to remember about you. You truly were the "glue" that held the clan together. The bearer of all news be it good or sad news it kept the family bonded. The perfect combination of being interested and interesting, Harold would always ask about our lives and with so much sincerity and care. Conversations were always positive, upbeat and always always filled with laughter and wit :-) Together Harold and Kim shined with such beautiful light, truly the love, respect and admiration they showed for one another is the relationship that we all aspire to be blessed with in our lives. So beautiful and heartwarming. Harold's spirit and light lives on in his family that he so loved and adored.... Kim, Lisa, Allan, Nori, Kevin and Chris.
So sorry for your loss. Forever in my heart.

Kim and family, Harold will be deeply missed by us, especially me. I will miss him at the entry to the Diamond Club, greeting everyone who enters or walks by, I will miss the fact he knew everyone by their first name. What a great memory. Harold made everyone feel important. Harold until we meet at the Diamond in the clouds, rest in peace. Pat and Rich Daniels
