Heidi Heins Obituary

Heidi Marie Heins

Heidi Marie Heins passed away unexpectedly on December 21, 2013. She is survived by her husband Stephen, son Joseph, and parents Pamela and Terry Carpenter.

Heidi dedicated over 20 years of her life to helping and treating cancer patients. Her tireless devotion to the patients she treated made a difference not only to their lives but to the lives of countless parents, spouses, and children of those battling cancer.

Her infectious personality, enduring optimism, and gentle spirit made her the greatest mother, wife, daughter and friend that anyone could have wished for. These traits, which drew people toward her and fostered so many close relationships throughout her life, are the same that will be so missed in her absence. With her passing, the world has truly lost one of its greatest.

At her request, no formal service will be held. A small, private gathering of family and close friends will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice in her memory.

I just learned of the passing of Heidi today. I couldn't believe what I was reading. I spoke to Heidi many times over the telephone after my surgery and during my treatments. She was always so very kind and caring. May you rest in peace Heidi. My condolences to the family.

I just heard about this and am so saddened. She was such a huge help to my sister as she went through Ovarian Cancer treatment. Heidi was someone who belonged in Cancer Centers, she had the right kind of personality and spirit to help those who were suffering. She will be missed.

Heidi helped get my charity Ovarian Cancer Together on the map in Seattle by always being willing to have our flyers and cards in the treatment rooms and reception. She would go the extra mile every time when I had a question or needed something, and she was the consummate professional. All of us at OCT who are patients at SCCA will miss her very much. Much Peace and many blessings to her family and co-workers. - Kay Kerbyson

Dear sweet spirit of Heidi and her loving family, Heidi was a true companion and champion for me, as a patient. I just now am aware of her parting and I cannot tell you how saddened I am. It was Heidi and Holly from the beginning for me as I embarked on this terrifying journey with ovarian cancer. Heidi gave over 100% no matter if it was a visit, a phone call, email ....she helped me in so many ways. She was always joyful.

This is heartbreaking news. My most sincere and deepest condolences to her family and friends for they must have a spot that aches. Heidi may your sweet soul rest in Peace. God Bless you all.

I doubt that I would be here today if it had not been for Heidi and her team at SCCA. She helped us in more ways than I can explain during these past five years.

My heart and prayers go out to Heidi and her family....I am so sorry for your loss. Heidi (along with her co-worker, Holly) were always the "Dynamic Duo" in my book when I would consult with them about our patients on an almost daily basis the past 20 years. Thank you for all your dedication and love you gave to all your patients and co-workers.

Heidi helped me through my battle with cervical cancer. She was the first person I saw when I entered scca and she was so kind. I never doubted her wisdom. I am so sorry she is not with us here on earth, but her light will always shine. May her family find strength and peace.

Heidi was half of the Team of 'H2' that I am sure gave the best possible ovarian cancer care to my spouse/partner Carole. What a sharp wit, medical/oncology prowess and love of her job which must have been very taxing at times. I am so thankful she was on our 'Team' and have to guess she and Carole are enjoying some well earned time off. My condoloences to her family and her compadres at SCCA and UW.
