Jeffrey Kenneth Ruud

May 3, 1960 ~ May 17, 2020

Jeff passed away peacefully from complications due to Covid-19.

Graduating from West Seattle High School in 1978, Jeff loved hockey and tennis, playing both at a high level through high school. He so enjoyed being with family and friends along with watching movies, hockey and tennis. He and his family had struggled with his schizophrenia for 42 years. Throughout, Jeff never lost his sense of humor and easily made friends wherever he lived.

Jeff was loved by so many people. Survived by his father Duane, mother Darlene, brother Tim, sister Wendi, brother in law Rich, nephew Ben, and niece Sadie.

Jeff is with his angels.

He is one of them now.

Jeff was a regular visitor at the office when I worked for Jim Angstead. He would come in, flop down in the chair in the waiting area and although he was there to see Jim, I would do if Jim wasn't there. Although our conversations were many, I can no longer recall the details. What I can recall vividly in my mind is him relaxing in that chair by the front door.
It took my breath when I learned of his death. I know things weren't easy for him or for you (his family), but I also know we were all working together to help him on his life journey.
May you find comfort in your memories and assurance that he is free at last.
Hugs to you all.

When I heard, I flashed back to Jeff as--oh--a 12 year old, maybe. A little younger than this picture. Coming in the store, flirtatious grin. Sweet mischief in his eyes. I know that he and Virg and Grandma Mary and Grandpa Walt will have some fun conversations up there! Sending hugs to all.

Jeff and I were classmates at Fairmount Park and we were Lieutenants on School Patrol together. We would tip our flags together tip to tip after the last kid passed through everyday and we'd laugh and tell stories as we took our time going back to class. Jeff had a lucky leprechaun smile and was so sweet, caring and funny! I know he is on patrol in heaven and I will treasure his friendship forever. I love you Jeff ❤

We are sorry to hear of the passing of Jeff. I will always remember him pulling around the block in the little red wagon, making mud pies and climbing the tree in your back yard. Hugs to you all.
