Obituary Condolences

Karen Ilene KING Karen/Mom/Punky/Nana Karen Ilene King was born May 21st 1949 in The Dalles, OR to William M. Powell and Lola Winnett Powell. Karen passed away Sunday with her children at her side. Karen was a spirited soul and known for her strong will and independence, and these two traits were never more evident than during her brief and courageous battle with leukemia. Karen grew up in The Dalles riding horses with her cousins and was surrounded by furry companions her entire life. She had an adventurous streak in 1975 she married Walter King and together they travelled to London, Greece, Belize, Mexico, and more but ultimately she was a home-body at heart. Karen was a member of the Seattle community for over twenty years where she raised her family, worked, played tennis and soccer, and spent time with her grandchildren. She recently moved to Pendleton, OR to be closer to her family and enjoy the quiet life. Working at Coldwell Banker over the last few years Karen forged many important friendships. Karen will be missed by many and will always remain in our hearts. Karen is survived by her mother Lola, brother Mark and wife Cindy, daughter Kyla and husband Greg, son Zach and wife Alisa, and granddaughters Lola and Kolvin.
