Kevin Counard Obituary

Kevin Counard

Kevin Counard, age 29, died suddenly, for reasons unknown, at his home in Bothell, Washington last Sunday, March 15, 2015. Born February 8, 1986, Kevin was a graduate of Bothell High School Class of 2004. He went on to attend Shoreline Community College graduating from their Toyota/T-Ten Program in 2006. Kevin worked as an ASE Certified Auto Technician for Toyota of Kirkland for a number of years before deciding to forego his career and go to work as a produce handler at the Yakima Fruit Market. An avid outdoorsman, this allowed him more free time to enjoy life and his love of fishing, hiking, camping, and rock climbing. Of course, his dog, Sequoia, was always by his side. He loved to cook and had recently constructed a smoker, having friends over to enjoy many meals. Kevin could do most anything he put his mind to. As a musician he played clarinet, saxophone, keyboard, taught himself to play the banjo and even hand carved his own Djembe drum from a log.

Kevin lived life to its fullest. He was known for his warm heart, sense of humor, infectious laugh and a smile that made his eyes twinkle. He was loved by all that knew him and lives on in the memories we all share.

Kevin is survived by his parents; Doug Counard and Sandi Polson Counard, brother; Casey Counard, and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 2-6pm at the Northsore Senior Center in Bothell, Washington. Family members will later scatter his ashes off the Edmonds Ferry in the waters of Puget Sound where loved to fish.

With what a deep devotedness of woe I wept thy absence o'er and o'er again. Thinking of thee, still thee, till thought grew pain, and memory, like a drop that, night and day, falls cold and ceaseless, wore my heart away! ~ Thomas Moore

One of kind- absolutely. I will never forget you and live with an extra dose of conviction in your honor. Breaks my heart knowing this world sucks a whole lot more- knowing Kevin is not roaming in it- but your spirit lives on through us. We owe it to your legacy to live as fully as you did. My grief is felt in solidarity with the Counard clan- heavy in my heart every day.

Kevy, I don't understand what's happened, why you left us so soon, but I know you lived your life to the fullest. You touched so many with your warmth, kindness and sense of humor. I am proud of you, my son, and comforted to know you had so many really good friends who truly loved you.
We are giving Sequoia a good home and will carry you with us, forever in our hearts. Love you, my little "hug-a-monkey", Always and forever, Mom
