Obituary Condolences

Kyoko HAYASHI Kyoko Hayashi, full-of-life mother and grandmother passed away, at the age of 84, on February 28, 2011 with family at her side. Born in Seattle, at four years of age she moved to Tokyo where she attended Seishin Joshi Gakuin (Sacred Heart School in Tokyo), Tokyo Joshi Daigaku (Tokyo Woman's Christian University) then later Seattle University where she obtained an RN and started a long career in nursing. Her outwardly quiet demeanor belied a sense of adventure and love of life which included leaving Tokyo for Seattle shortly after WWII in her early twenties to start a career in nursing, worldwide traveling, classical music, opera, reading anything she could get her hands on, and of course her family which included her Shih Tzu Mikey. She is survived by daughter Karen Sodhi, son Eric Hayashi, and grandchildren Kenrick, Andrew and Emily Ward. She joins husband Roy and son Roger. A service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the Seattle Betsuin Buddhist Temple, 1427 South Main Street, Seattle, WA 98144.
