Laura (Lolly) Baugh

Obituary Condolences

Laura (Lolly) BAUGH Lolly could hit a golf ball a country mile, she had a tennis serve that that tore the racket out of your hands and she skied like a tornado. She was at "home" at a party, both elegant and rustic. Born in Toledo, Ohio on New Year's Eve in 1927 to parents George and Marion Doust, Lolly graduated from Roosevelt High School (1946) and from the U of W (1950). As a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, she was involved in many student activities. She met Bob Baugh at the UW when he had returned from a Navy tour, and they were married after her graduation. They recently celebrated their 61st anniversary. Bob led Baugh Construction Co, into a position as a première builder of Seattle's skyline. When time permitted, the couple took People To People Tennis tours, building good relationships in 21 nations. Often, people they had met were entertained in Seattle. Lolly was involved and contributed generously to Ryther Child Center, Orthopedic Hospital and the symphony, where one year she chaired the Symphony Ball. Lolly died peacefully at Mirabella Care Facility on May 5. Naturally, Bob was nearby. The Baughs have two children, Carolyn and Tom, who live in California, 4 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Lolly was predeceased by her parents and sister, Janet. Services will be announced at a future date. The family is especially grateful for her loving impact on their lives this Mother's Day.
