Linda CURREY Linda Marie Currey was born on June 24, 1955 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, the daughter of Andre and June Clermont, and was raised in Ontario and Quebec as a child. Linda moved to Vancouver, BC in 1972, graduating from Pacific Vocational Institute (Vancouver, BC) as a Dental Receptionist, and Douglas College (Vancouver, BC) as a Medical Office Assistant with Office Administrator studies. She held positions as Child Care Staff, Pitt Meadows Day Care (Maple Ridge, BC), Office Manager, Laborie Surgical (Richmond, BC), Medical Stenographer, St. Pauls Hospital (Vancouver, BC), Emergency Room Admitting, St. Pauls Hospital (Vancouver. BC), Volunteer Teachers Assistant, St. Nicholas Montessori (Federal Way, WA), Volunteer Teachers Assistant, Wildwood Elementary School (Federal Way, WA), and Attendance Secretary, Wildwood Elementary School (Federal Way, WA). Linda was also Vice-President of the Wildwood PTA, a Troop Leader in Girl Scouts, and yet reserved time and energy to stay fully engaged in being a loving, nurturing mother and devoted wife. Linda was always known for her vitality and being a forthright person who did not hesitate to tell the truth as she saw it, or give her opinion and let the chips fall where they may but she also lit up every room she walked into, and the light lasted long after she left. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001 and 2005, Linda devoted much of her time counseling and educating other women, especially those who were newly diagnosed with or fighting inflammatory breast cancer (IBC), but she refused to allow her personal fight with cancer to define or diminish who she was. Passionate about living and quality of life, Linda enjoyed camping, wind surfing, salmon fishing, and other outdoor sports with her family and friends. She will always be remembered as the personification of faith, courage, strength, hope, and love. Linda served at First Baptist Church of Bothell, Grace Community Church of Auburn, New Heart Worship Center of Auburn, and Overcomer Covenant Church of Auburn nurturing children in multiple roles like Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS), teaching Sunday School, and providing child care to infants and preschoolers. Her favorite Bible passage was Psalm 23, two favorite authors were Max Lucado and Joyce Meyer, and a favorite saying was 'First believe and then let your life be a testimony to what you believe!' Linda was 55 years old, and resided in Federal Way, WA for the last fifteen years with her husband and two children. She departed this life peacefully at University of Washington Medical Center on May 1st, 2011 at 9:05PM, survived by her husband, Washington Lee, and her children, Joshua Lee and Brittany Louise June Currey, of Federal Way, WA. Also still living are six siblings: her brothers Paul and Mike, and her sisters Judy, Janet, Danielle, and Diane, residing in Ontario and Quebec, except Diane, who resides in Vancouver, BC. A Memorial Service to celebrate Linda's life is scheduled for 10:00AM on May 21st, 2011 at the Overcomer Covenant Church, 33415 Military Rd South, Auburn, WA 98001. Anyone who knew Linda is welcome to attend in remembrance of her.
