Lorraine Jane Bellecy passed away at home on October 22 with her husband, Peter, by her side. Lorraine was born on January 29, 1924, in Oakland, California.

Growing up in Oakland, Lorraine loved figure skating and horseback riding. While living in Oakland, she worked for Jacuzzi. She and Peter dated for seven years and were married on February 16, 1946, after he returned from serving in World War II. After moving to Seattle in 1949, Lorraine began working for the Seattle School District, first at West Woodland Elementary School and then Ballard High School, serving lunch to hundreds of children. She loved kids, so this was the perfect job for her. She made many friends in the Italian and Greek communities. For Lorraine, family came before anything else. Sunday family dinners were the norm. She loved her kids, adored her grandchildren, and they adored her.

I knew Lorraine from several family gatherings at her son Peter and his wife Irene's home.
I can see why her family absolutely adored her. She was a very loving and kind person and her husband Peter doted on her with a love that only comes from a lifetime of mutual affection and tenderness. She had a beautiful smile. It was a privilege to know her.
