M. Sean Linton Echelbarger Obituary
M. Sean Linton

November 7, 1969 ~ October 25, 2015

Sean was born November 7, 1969 in Carmel, California, and died on October 25, 2015 in Bellingham. He was born to Carolyn Updike Zoellin and James R. Zoellin. After wonderful early years on the Monterey Peninsula, Sean and his brother Rob moved to Seattle, WA, with their mother in 1977. In 1980 Carolyn married Lindsey Echelbarger, his adoptive father.

Sean is a graduate of Sehome High School and Cornish College of the Arts, where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. Sean worked for seven years at the Bellingham Business Journal as their graphic designer.

Sean was talented and creative. He loved sketching, painting and intricate origami. He captured the beauty of nature and the outdoors through photographs he took on many of the hikes he enjoyed.

Sean's home was filled with music of all sorts. He had formal musical training in the piano and cello but also taught himself many different musical instruments.

Sean had a love of animals, which included a pet cat, Kit and bearded lizard, Lump. He was a gentle, kind, loving and sensitive person who struggled with depression. He died unexpectedly on October 25, 2015.

He is survived by his mother and father, Carolyn and Lindsey, Woodway; brother Nicholas Echelbarger (Caitlin) and niece, Helen Echelbarger, Woodway; James Zoellin (Vivian) and Tyler (Danae), Gig Harbor and Seattle; grandfather, Leo Dean Echelbarger, Edmonds; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Dear friends include Mercy Payne and her daughter Savannah Zoellin; Bellingham.

Sean will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Services will be at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Saturday, November 21 at 2:00 PM: 2117 Walnut St., Bellingham, WA 98225.
