Michael Fisher Johnson Obituary
Michael Fisher Johnson

Michael F. Johnson, born August 25, 1975, in Seattle passed away unexpectedly on January 3, 2019 in Charleston, South Carolina.

Mike was a graduate of Eastside Catholic High School and Washington State University where he was President of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity his senior year. After graduation from Washington State he earned his Juris Doctor degree from Willamette Law School. Following graduation from law school he practiced with the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D. C. specializing in corporate finance issues. In 2012 Mike was recruited to Greenville, South Carolina, to be a partner with the law firm of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP where he gained widespread recognition as one of the leading security lawyers in South Carolina. In 2015 he was profiled as "Who's Who One to Watch" in the Upstate business journal for his work with securities and emerging growth companies.

He loved the practice of law, tennis, family and friends. He was the proud father of William age 3. Oh how he loved his boy.

Even though he was a long way from Seattle he remained an ardent Cougar and Seahawk fan. He was a true Seattleite because he repeatedly claimed he missed the rain. He will be remembered for his smile and enthusiastic support and love for his friends and family.

Mike is survived by his wife, Rachel and his son William. Also surviving are his mother and step-father, Maxine and Mark Clark, his father and wife, Howard and Helen Johnson, his brother Timothy Johnson and wife Stephany, In-laws David and Sally Sclar, his uncle Jim Fisher and step-brothers and sisters as well as nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks for donations to be made to the William Furie Johnson Educational Fund, established at the request of a dear friend, https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=www.troweprice.com%2Fusis%2Fgo-tuition-gift%2Fnational-529%2Fd9b49080d4ec4ba49967b701d8ace837&data=02%7C01%7Cfunerals%40seattletimes.com%7C734437a690c945d92d1d08d675972f68%7Cfc2b8476b7f0473d82fbe0a89fd99855%7C0%7C1%7C636825689527744867&sdata=9YI%2FDV00kgdAgBnMHBGiRFG71%2F0FOj1BgiFV12tfqSk%3D&reserved=0.

Services were held in Greenville, South Carolina. A memorial service for friends and family will be held in Seattle later this summer. Sign Michael's online Guest Book at www.Legacy.com
