July 31, 1916 - May 18, 2012

Ole was raised in a small Danish community in Iowa, with one brother and three sisters. Ole served in the Army Air Corps from 1940 to 1945, conducting 35 bombing missions in Europe. He retired from the Air Force Reserve in 1976 as a Lt Colonel, and also worked as an engineer at Boeing. Ole was an assistant scoutmaster, taught Sunday school, served as church treasurer and volunteered at the USO at Sea-Tac Airport for fifteen years. Ole displayed endless grace and patience and retained his sweet disposition to the very end of life.

He will be buried with military honors at Tahoma National Cemetery on June 25, followed by a memorial service at Boulevard Park Presbyterian Church, Seatac.

Ole is survived by his wife of 69 years, Betty; his daughter Bonnie of Seattle, his son Scott of Vashon Island, and his daughter Deborah of Wisconsin. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 3 siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. The family requests no flowers.
