Patricia Frayne LaPlant Obituary
Patricia Frayne LaPlant

Patricia Frayne LaPlant, of Edmonds, Washington, born December 3, 1939, passed away on August 23, 2018 after a brief illness. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 52 years, Richard.

Pat and Richard "Dick" LaPlant began their married lives together in Seattle, later living in Edmonds / Woodway, and Whistler, BC. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Tacoma and the University of Washington. Afterwards, she taught middle school English and Drama in the Bellevue School District.

Pat loved the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and was constantly in motion, whether skiing on her favorite runs at Whistler, trekking through the rainforests of Peru and mountains of Nepal, horseback riding with loved ones in the Bitterroot Mountains of southern Montana, or spending time with Dick at The Hideout in Shell, Wyoming.

Pat embraced life with passion and vigor, and was always game for an adventure. She cherished times spent camping with family, meeting friends for a glass (or two) of good red wine and enjoying vanilla lattes in her special green coffee mug.

Pat was fiercely loyal and extremely compassionate, and had many loving friends she considered her "children". She was always available to lend an ear or a hand to her wide circle of friends and quick to host a celebration. Pat dedicated her life to taking care of others.

She also had a soft spot for many four-legged friends, including Oreo, Eppie, Moses, Cheyenne, Duke and Sammy the Cat.

Pat was an ever-present light and those of us that were touched by her love and friendship will always remember her and forever be grateful. Her "check in" calls, texts and generous use of emojis in messages will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jean and Richard Frayne. Pat leaves behind her sister Darlene Norkoski; nieces, nephews and a large extended group of friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to PAWS in her memory. A private "Celebration of Life" is being planned.
