Rachel Tacher Obituary

Rachel TACHER Born March 2, 1922 in New York City to Lucy and Albert Levy, she moved to Seattle at the age of eight. Rae graduated from Garfield High School and married the love of her life...Jack Tacher in 1942. Rae was a wonderful mother and a very devoted wife. Her husband Jack died in 1973 at the young age of 56 and it was a very difficult time for Rae, but she persevered. In 1996, Rae was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, which has only a 5% survivor rate. With the support of all her children, Rae was able to have a successful surgery to remove the cancer. She was blessed with another twelve wonderful years of life to see the weddings and Bar and Bat Mitzvah's of her grandchildren, and the birth of five great grandchildren. Rae was loved by all who knew her. She never spoke an unkind word about another. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her children, Bob, Cynthia, Linda, and Karen will always cherish the wonderful memories of this compassionate lady. She is survived by her sister Jean Akrish, children Robert Tacher (Jaqueline), Cynthia Walesby (Mark), Linda Robke (Ron), Karen Bobman (Bruce) and grandchildren Lauri, Jillan, Ryan, Jake, Alyssa, Ashley, and 5 great grandchildren. Friends are welcome to join Rae's family at a memorial service 11:00a.m. Sunday, Nov 9th at Washelli with burial at the Sephardic Brotherhood Cemetery. Reception to follow at the home of Bob and Jaqueline Tacher. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
