Robert Collins O'BRIEN Robert Collins O'Brien, known to friends and family as Bob, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2011. He was born in Plainfield, New Jersey, on July 13, 1913, later moving to Cedar Rapids, Iowa where Bob was active in Boy Scouts and obtained his Eagle Scout award. Bob moved to Washington with his family in 1939. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Australia, New Guinea and the Philippines. He had a long career with the US Postal Service retiring in 1978. In 1949, he married Laura Kathleen Hayden. Bob is survived by his children: John O'Brien (Mary), Nancy Dunn (George), Patricia Brady (Steve), Eileen Rasnack (Tom); eight grandchildren, Jeff, Catherine, Stephanie, Will, Brian, Kyle, Jimmy, and Jeremy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen, sister, Jean Feeney, and son, Tom. Bob was a loving husband and caring father whose first priority was his family. He enjoyed working around the house and being outdoors - hiking, camping and bicycling. We miss him dearly and will always remember him. A memorial mass will be held for Bob on Monday, May 2, 2011, 11am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 220 Mt. Park Boulevard SW, Issaquah, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the or Evergreen Hospice.
