Ruth E. Brooks, beloved Mother and Friend passed away on September 7th due to complications resulting from surgery. Ruth was born in Oakland, CA in 1922. Her family moved to Kenmore, WA when she was a girl, where her parents ran a resort on the beach. She graduated from Bothell High School. Ruth has been a resident of Shoreline, WA since 1963. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugo and Grace Petersen, her sisters Helen M. Farrell, and Rosemarie Stanfill, and her former husband Leland B. Brooks. She is survived by her daughter, Kathie M. Brooks (William Fulton), nieces Colleen A. Farrell, Kelly Rickey (Steve), and Susan Stanfill, nephews Jeffrey L. Farrell, Monte Stanfill (Debbie), and Derrick R. Farrell (Heather), their families, and a large number of dear friends. Ruth was a person who was truly loved by so many. She had a kind and encouraging word for everyone, and a tender heart for animals. She was a healthy active 90-year-old with an unsinkable spirit and a wonderful sense of humor. There are no words to describe how dearly she will be missed by all of us!
