Ted Choi Tam

Ted CHOI TAM Ted Choi Tam was born on Vashon Island on December 25, 1935 and died peacefully in the care of his family on October 1, 2010 after a year long illness. Ted devoted most of his adult life to making a difference in the community. He was involved in many Chinese-Asian organizations, including the Chinese Chinatown Chamber of Commerce and was co-founder of the Kin On Health Care Center. His civic involvement included numerous neighborhood and city-wide committees and issues. He also was very active in the Republican Party and candidate campaigns, being the first Asian-American to be chair of a legislative district for the Republican Party. In addition, Ted spent many years coaching youth soccer for his sons' teams and being a soccer referee. Ted is survived by his wife, JoAn, his children, Theresa (Juan Carlos), Elizabeth (Neal), Christina, Teddy (Katie), Christopher and Matthew, and his brother Dan (Eunice). Funeral Services will be held on October 6, 2010 at 11am, St Patrick Church, 2702 Broadway Ave East. Donations may be made to Kin On Health Care Center, 4416 S. Brandon Street, Seattle, WA, 98118.
