Thomas Spinney Obituary
Thomas Spinney passed away on January 25, 2019 at the age of 82. He was born and raised in Tacoma, WA. After graduating from Lincoln High School in 1955, Tom enlisted in the Navy and served about the U.S.S. Essex. Later he received his B.A. in Education from Western Washington University. Tom taught
elementary school in the Seattle School District until he retired. In the early years of retirement, Tom enjoyed fishing, camping and travel with his wife Barbara. In recent years he enjoyed water color painting and golf with friends at the Nile.
Tom was preceded in death by his wife Barbara of 42 years, and is survived by daughters Traci, son in law Jeff, and Janna of Seattle.
A celebration of his life will be
held on February 2, 2019 at 1:00 PM
at First Lutheran Church Richmond Beach in Shoreline.

The last of the siblings, Uncle Tom will be missed here for sure. I so looked forward to his special Christmas cards, really a talent for painting! I know he loved golf as well, and enjoyed looking in on the progress of local construction projects. Definitely a man of many interests and hobbies. Most of all he dearly loved his daughters and son-in-law, and also really liked them and looked forward to their time together.
I'll miss chatting with you Uncle Tom! I'm sure the family and Aunt Barbara is happy to see you!

My late husband and I were friends of the Spinneys for about 50 years. We had such fun with picnics, dinners, auctions, cookie parties, Rainbow functions and traveling to Mexico and Alaska together. Mac and Tom bowled together in an Elks league for several years and they shared a golf cart at the Nile. I will miss him so much but know that he is with Barb now -- and probably golfing with Mac. I like to think that they are watching over us.
