Walter Osten BRYANT Walter Osten Bryant was born January 20, 1947 in Acme, N.C. to Letha Mae and Osten Durant Bryant, the eldest of four children. The family relocated to Philadelphia, PA, where Walter grew up and attended school, graduating from Overbrook High School in 1965. Walter moved to the Seattle area in the early 1990s, and was soon known for his extraordinary talent as a painting contractor, building a thriving business.He often talked about the wonderful friends he made and how they sustained him and his faith. He counted his time in Seattle as the best years of his life. Walter transitioned peacefully on March 4, 2012, succumbing to a year-long battle with cancer.He is survived by his father, sisters Ella, Jackie and Deborah, daughters Michele and Felicia, and [adopted] daughters Rahel and Lily. Memorial service will be Saturday, April 14 at 2:30 p.m. at St. David Emmanuel Church, 18842 Meridian Avenue North, Shoreline, WA 98133. Memorial donations may be made to St. David Emmanuel Church or the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, 50 East Freedom Way, Cincinnati, OH 45202.
