Keith Edwards Wissmar

October 25, 1958 ~ July 30, 2017

Our beloved partner, father, son, friend, mentor, and all-around rock star Keith Wissmar died on July 30, 2017 after a fearless 14-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Son of Stan Wissmar and Joan Stone, Keith was born in Blytheville, Arkansas and graduated from Interlake High School in Bellevue, Washington in 1976 before following his dream and hitting the road with his rock & roll family. He started out as a painter and enjoyed many years of not only making a living painting, but painting friends' houses until as recently as last year. The rock and roll life ignited his creative spirit, and he quickly became a coveted and respected Lighting Director. His unique talent and dynamic vision helped set the stage for a long list of eminent musicians including Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Neil Young, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, Jack Johnson, and Gary Clark Jr. An artist to the core, he discovered and focused on the beauty and potential in everything and everyone.

The brightest lights for Keith could be found in his family. Keith was a devoted and adoring father to Lulu, Jacob, and Sydney, and a cherished partner to Sherry. He loved vintage cars and Hot Wheels, Halloween and McDonalds, live music and tequila. He will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and wicked sense of humor. He shined light on everyone around him, and had a contagious zeal and passion to live to the fullest.

Keith was at home surrounded by loved ones at the time of death. Keith is survived by daughter Lulu, partner Sherry, children Jacob and Sydney; parents Stan (Gail Wissmar) and Joan (Don Stone), sister Diane (Scott Baeckel), half brothers Andy and Rick, nephews Kevin and Wyatt, niece Pasha, and former wife Tina.

"Your light's reflected now, reflected from afar. We were but

stones, your light made us stars." ~ Pearl Jam

Keith and our Son, Jerry, were teammates on the Lake Hills Soccer Club. Stan, Keith's father, was the Coach. And our Son, Jerry, passed away from pancreatic cancer July 15, 2009. Martin Bowman, another friend and player died in a head on car collision in Tacoma several years ago. All of the players on the team, and the parents, were good friends. We often had parties and other
get-togethers. We think of all of them, especially Carol Rasmusson, who we have seen often. And the McLeods who were friends of ours in school in SLC before we moved to Bellevue. We love them all still and share the sadness of losing a son.
